Buying a plaque, in plain English

Terms of Sale

EFFECTIVE 26 OCTOBER 2026 · MAXWELL COMMER

Roamix is free, and every feature in it stays unlocked. The one thing you can pay for is a plaque: a real object, made by hand from one of your trips and posted to you. These terms are the agreement for buying one. They sit alongside the Roamix Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and they apply only when you order a plaque.

Who you are buying from

Plaques are made and sold by Maxwell Commer, the independent maker of Roamix, in the United States. Each one is printed, painted, assembled and packed by hand. Questions about an order go to roamix@maxwellcommer.com — please include your order code. It is shown in the app when you order and stays there under Orders. Without it, the email address you paid with is enough.

You must be 18 or older to order a plaque.

What you are buying

A two-piece trip plaque, about 188 × 159 mm (7⅜ × 6¼ in):

You choose one colour for the colour piece: Spray red, Sky, Yellow, Green or Black.

The plaque is made from the design you approve in the app: its title, subtitle, colour and map scope, shown in the preview before you pay. Please check the spelling of your title. The preview shows your plaque's layout, title and route. The real print's colour and texture will differ a little: it's printed in layers and painted by hand.

So small marks are part of the object: fine layer lines, slight variation in the spray finish, and colours that differ a little from your screen. These are not defects. The terrain is drawn from public elevation data and your route is simplified to fit the plaque, so it is a keepsake of a trip, not a survey-accurate map.

A decorative object, not a toy, and not for children under 12. PLA softens in heat (around 55 °C): keep it out of hot cars and strong direct sun.

Price, shipping and tax

You pay by card or Apple Pay on a checkout page run by Stripe, which opens in a Safari sheet over the app. Your card details go to Stripe, and we never see your full card number. Payment is taken when you place the order. The price shown on Stripe's page is the price you pay; if it ever differs from the one shown in the app, Stripe's page is the one that counts, and you can simply not complete it.

When it ships

Every plaque is made to order, so nothing is waiting on a shelf.

If we can't ship within 10 business days, we'll email you before then with a new date and the choice to cancel for a full refund to your card.

All sales are final

Every plaque is made just for you, from your own trip and title. So there are no refunds if you change your mind, no cancellations once you have paid, and no returns: we never ask for a plaque back. Please check your design, your title's spelling and your shipping address before you pay.

We refund you in these cases only:

Apart from these, we don't give refunds. A refund goes back to the card you paid with.

If something is wrong

If your plaque arrives broken, has a manufacturing fault, doesn't match the design you approved, or is lost by USPS, we make and send you a new one free; if we can't, we refund you. You don't need to send it back. Please tell us promptly, with your order code and a photo if you can.

Your shipping address

The address you enter on Stripe's checkout page is where we send the plaque. Please check it. If you spot a mistake, email us before it ships and we will change it. We are not responsible for a plaque sent to the address you gave us. If it comes back to us undelivered, we can reship it once to a corrected address for the cost of the new label.

Your trip and your design

Your trip, your title and your design are yours. You give us permission to use them only to make, ship and support your plaque. We never show, publish or reuse them — not in marketing, not as an example — unless you tell us in writing that we may. What we keep and for how long is in the Privacy Policy.

Please don't order a plaque with a title that is unlawful, or that uses someone else's trademark or private information without permission. We may decline an order like that and refund it in full.

Liability

Where the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that can't be limited, including your rights if a plaque is faulty.

Changes and governing law

We may change these terms or the price for future orders; an order you have already placed keeps the terms and price it was placed under. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, as the Roamix Terms of Service are, except where your local consumer-protection law says otherwise.
